Mother’s helps typically work between
10 and 12 hours per day 5 days per week (some families require
2 nights babysitting included in the salary).
Mother’s help is able to care for children
of any age, from newborn. However a mother’s help will
always work alongside a parent or senior nanny. We will only
offer mother’s helps who have at least one year experience
with children of the family’s age group.
Duties include: washing and ironing the children’s
clothes, preparation of meals, ensuring children’s
bedrooms are clean and tidy, homework assistance, shopping
for the household, driving the children, educational activities
such as teaching a second language, arranging play-dates
and social schedule, planning children’s extracurricular
activities, keeping the parents informed of any developmental
progress in a child.
A live in mother’s help will be provided
their own bedroom and privacy when “off-duty.” It
is preferable for a mother’s help to be provided her/his
own bathroom also.
In London a live in mother’s help with
more than one year professional experience will earn between £250
and £400 net per week. Dependant on family requirements
and candidates experience.
