Some parents disapprove of backpack carriers during these times because of the possible compression of the spine and hips due to unsupported suspension, as it is hands-free.

Finally, a baby 10 months and up usually can already crawl, clap and wave “hello” and say simple words like “Ma-ma, Da-da”. During this stage, a baby can be situated in a backpack carrier as he has a stronger body, as long as the carrier still offers the proper support needed. Some parents prefer the front-facing baby carrier because it allows the baby to enjoy the scenery around him.
