Prepared to tackle potty training? Jump in! It is time to get that kid into some big kid underwear!

? “Potty training is life!” How does that thought strike you? A bit peculiar, huh?

Well, when you decide it’s time to potty train , potty training MUST be your life for a couple of days. It absolutely MUST be! ?

You need to be “100% commited”! You have got to commit to ONLY focusing on potty training as you get started.Life as you know it must come to a halt. (Which truly is a nice break if you think about it.)

? Hence pick a long weekend to begin potty training. I advise starting on a Friday morning so you can have the whole weekend to reinforce the recently learned skill. Cancel all plans and try not to leave the house. On the first day, I recommend sending brothers and sisters to grandparent’s or to a friend’s house. You want no distractions. Nothing should take your attention off of the task at hand, potty training!

? You are a Potty Training Master! Who ‘woulda ‘ thought huh?

? When you make potty training your life for a few days, life as you knew it will return and you will have a potty-trained big kid along for the ride! Really, this is the Only possible way to go when potty training. Don’t be one of the numerous frustrated parents I’ve talked to who neglected to make potty training their life and were feeling the effect of that poor decision!

?Potty training can drag out if you do not focus intently on it for one or two days. Don’t worry, this will go much faster than you might think. And, before you know it, voila, you’ll have a potty trained toddler. No more stinky, filthy diapers to switch, no more mess.

Just consider how that’ll feel!

“If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.” – Abigail Van Buren.

Do you really think using Pull-Ups would help you along this potty training journey? There's truly only 1 scenario in which Pull-Ups for Potty Trainingare ok and that is when there is a chance that your newly toilet trained toddler might go to sleep.

Do you really think using Pull-Ups would help you along this potty training journey? There’s truly only 1 scenario in which Pull-Ups for Potty Trainingare ok and that is when there is a chance that your newly toilet trained toddler might go to sleep.

? If you’re going on a trip, or even out and about for the day, and your kid might go to sleep in the automobile, then putting a Pull-Up on him is ok. Or, for a nap and at night, when you are not yet assured that he’ll make it thru sleep without an accident, then a Pull-Up is ok. Otherwise, leave the Pull-Ups off.

And, when you have your kid in a Pull-Up, it isn't ok to point out to him, “Well, since you've got your Pull- Up on, you can just potty in your pants.” No! No! No!

You need to treat a Pull-Up JUST LIKE regular undies, taking your child to the bathroom often, and never say it’s ok for him to just go potty in his Pull-Up. He is in the middle of learning NOT to potty in his pants, ever. He won’t understand if you are saying it’s ok since he’s got a Pull-Up on. Got it? !

Now, if he has got an accident in his Pull-Up, just treat it extremely matter-of-factly and take care of it. No punishment, no outrage. There can not ever be any negativity around potty trainingno matter how frustrated you may be! Count to 10. Big breath.

Don't make a big thing out of an accident. This can put negative energy related to experience and turn it into a frustrating ordeal. This is exactly what you need to avoid.

Your youngster will be potty trained before you know it. You will look back and laugh at these moments, guaranteed!

“To bring up a child in the way he should go, travel that way yourself once in a while.”

Do you know the #1 key to potty training success! Here it is. Drum roll please!

Do you know the #1 key to potty training success! Here it is. Drum roll please!

? You Need To Be 100% COMMITTED!

Easy enough though sometimes hard to follow thru! If you've got the mind-set you're going to do this and nothing will get in your way, then you will be quickly successful! If you believe you will do this in an on-again, off-again demeanour, you will be quickly irritated.

You can't be committed to potty training one day, and then decide that you have too much to do the following day and return to diapers. Believe me, I have had many conversations with annoyed parents who have tried potty training this way. It creates frustration, negativism, and disappointment! Is that what you need? No! Of course not. In order to make potty training as fun and as painless as possible, it is important that it’s done quickly!

So , make the commitment! You are going to do this thing, regardless of what it takes. When you approach potty training with an “I WILL DO THIS” posture, and a proper plan, you'll have a potty-trained big kid in virtually no time!

Once you choose to start potty training, make sure you dive in with both feet. This is a 100% commitment, all or none task. If you try to do it once in a while, or when you feel like it, then it will just end up being highly exasperating.

If you commit, then the time it takes will be shortened seriously as well. Dedicate 100% to it for just a few days and you'll be astonished by what can be attained. To find out what to do during those few short days take a Look at the Potty Party Method!

I will steer you along the way to your potty training success in no time!

Until then, do not forget to enjoy your children!

When teaching or learning anything the first and most important part is understanding. So when teaching potty training you need to talk to your child so they can understand what potty training is all about. Talk to them when you are changing their diaper, “you have a poopy diaper and now I am putting on a clean diaper” or “your diaper is wet and now I am putting on a dry diaper.”

Change your childs diaper everytime it is soiled even if it is only a little bit. This is so important during the potty training stages. Your child needs to enjoy being clean and dry. The more they enjoy being clean and dry the easier the process will be. If you are not excited about changing them more often, just keep telling yourself that this diaper is one less diaper you will have to change later when your child is out of diapers.

Always keep your comments and expressions positive and happy. Never make negative comments when you are changing your childs diaper. Never poke fun, make jokes or laugh about poop or pee, especially associated to their diaper. They may interpet that as a form of attention. They may start to soil their diaper to get that attention. They need to feel postive and confident about potty training talk.

When you know that your child is having a bowl movement, ask them nicely , WITH OUT embarrassing them, “are you going poop?” Then let them be. If they usually leave to go to another room and you know they are having a bowel movement, then let them be. When they are all done, you can then ask them if they just went poop? Ask them if they need a clean diaper on. Check their diaper, then explain to them what they did “you pooped in your diaper” or “you peed in your diaper, let’s go put on a clean dry diaper. This will give them an exact name and example of WHAT they are doing.

Be sure to always ask in a nice happy tone, you never want them to have any negative feelings associated with pooping or peeing.

Talk about the family pet, “Spot goes potty outside, and then we put that potty in the garbage” or “the kitty goes potty in the litter box and when I clean it out I put it in the garbage, just like we do with your wet or poopy diapers.” Talk to your child about the fact that everyone goes pee pee, and poop. Give them examples like “when I have drank a lot of water, I need to pee on the potty.”

Talking about everything will give your child a clear picture of the whole process of potty training. This will create a good understanding they can do. Understanding creates confidence. With confidence comes success!
