All parents have their own methods to teach their children how to brush their teeth; from fantastic stories to fantasy characters.
Most youngsters allocate too short a time brushing their teeth. Dental healthcare pros advise they brush for a time equal to two to three minutes. Whenever it helps, attempt to arrange for a timer in the bathroom or give your child a toothbrush with a timer built in. This way, your child will experience how long to brush. Or, have them brush for the duration of a song, which is inclined to be 2 or 3 minutes.
Establishing a good dental routine for your child does not take long. It will take approximately 7 days to establish a good habit and about 15 minutes a day. By taking the time and teaching your child the importance of good brushing routines early will prevent early cavities and tooth decay. Children love consistency and by adding your brushing habit into your daily routine will make it easier to establish in your child. If your child knows it is expected and needs to be done they will do it. That is a benefit that will make you, your child and your dentist happy.
Getting your kids to brush can be a chore in itself. My kids usually complained about something when it came time to brush. Some days it was the taste of the toothpaste while other days it was the color of the toothbrush. The task of getting them to brush was not fun. I am sure most parents have experienced this at one time or another.
